![]() UMF Hangs With, Falls to Williams in NCAA Men's 2nd Round The University of Maine at Farmington's run in the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament came to an end tonight as the Beavers fell to Williams College 83-64 in a second-round matchup. ![]() Men's Basketball Weekly Honors Farmington's Josh Tanguay, whose 25 points in the semifinals versus Green Mountain helped Farmington advance to the NAC championship, was named the NAC tournament MVP and men's basketball Player of the Week. ![]() Farmington Wins Men's Hoop Title The University of Maine of Farmington won the NAC Men's Basketball Championship with a 65-51 winner over Castleton. Farmington's Andrew Dean hit 5-of-9 three-pointers and Eric Taylor added 15 points and 15 rebounds. The Beavers have earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. ![]() NAC Mens Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced Green Mountain senior forward Rui Carmo was named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. Carmo currently leads the nation in scoring average with a 25.6 points per game average. ![]() Brock Bradford Named ESPN Academic All-American Brock Bradford (Sr., Kenduskeag, ME) has been selected as a 2009-10 ESPN First Team Academic All-American. Bradford is one of five student-athletes in the country to receive this prestigious award and is the first Academic All-American in Husson's history. The award is presented by ESPN the Magazine and is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA). |
